Contests

These contest were created and are being held by TOWERS_85_87 and gocubsgo2.

This has been a long time in the making. We were stickied in LittleBIGWorkshop.com and had reached a landmark in reviews at the time, with over three hundred.  Due to this, we decided that it was time provide a bit of an incentive to keep being creative. As you can see, this is our custom  LBR (LittleBIGReviewers) Platinum Trophy. They are made out of galvanized steel and they have been treated so that they last you a lifetime.  A plasma cutter was used to slice through the steel, making sure to have smooth edges. It stands at a total of 13 centimeters. Sackboy measures his actual height of 8 centimeters while in a stance unique to us. No two trophies are alike since part of the process is done by hand. TOWERS_85_87 has toiled, making sure that the base is solid.  So each is unique from one another. Consider the trophy as an acknowledgement of the winner’s proficiency of creating levels and in no way has any monetary value. The value it has is sentimental, a feeling of pride that you have accomplished something significant.  You will not find this anywhere else. They are exclusively found and won here on Sackcast.com/lbr . Is that the doorbell? Go check, it might be waiting for you.

May’s Competition Name: ‘Musical May’

• Creative/Eligibility Restrictions:  The only levels allowed are those that have music as their center focus. Levels do not have to be new. The music you implement may be influenced by songs from games and songs from real life. Basically, from anything and everywhere. Custom created ones are also welcomed.
• Deadline for submitting an entry: Friday, May 28th, 2010
• Winner will be announced on: Monday, May 31th, 2010
• Notes: A promotional video will be uploaded and posted shortly.

Judging:

We will consider the following when selecting the winner:

1. Originality: This aspect is a mixture of all the others. It determines how genuine or original were your ideas, creativity, visuals, sounds, design and gameplay.
2. Creativity: It determines how crafty and ingenious you were with every aspect (e.g. sounds, visuals, gameplay, design, etc.)
3. Sounds: This belongs to what players hear and listen to in your levels.
4. Visuals: This determines how appealing your level is visually. Details are also taken into consideration.
5. Design: The level’s overall structure and shape is what falls in this category.
6. Gameplay: Everything that has to do with obstacles (e.g. hazards, physical challenges, puzzles, enemies, boss fights, etc) is accounted for here.
7. Replay value: This is more or less the rating of how much enthusiasm or effort one is willing to spend to give the level another run.
8. Theme: If applicable. For example, if its a Halloween or Christmas level themed contest, how much of the level’s essence is true to the theme.

Competition Rules:

• Read all the rules.
• You DO NOT have to pay for anything. Just participate and hope you win.  

• Any person from around LBP (the world) can compete.
• The submission must be a level and a level only, fan art, objects, videos, etc.
• The submitted level must be in the name of one author ONLY unless otherwise stated by us.
• Competitions will be held with and without Creative Restrictions to keep things fresh.
• Competitions will be held once a month.
• Players will have 3 weeks time to create and submit a level. The player must pick and submit only one entry per competition.
• You can submit a level that has already been published by you. The level does not have to be new.
• The last (4th) week of the month will be used by us to judge the submitted levels.
• The level submitted must be your own. No copied levels. We will make sure to check each one
• Once the deadline has been reached, we will pick the best submitted level and that one will be the winner.
• When someone wins, that person may not compete in the immediately following competition. Consider it a grace period so that other players may have a chance to win. We will be keeping a list of the winners, so do not even try to get sneaky.
• Even if your level has been reviewed by us it may still be submitted for the competitions.
• Levels are not required to be locked for the contests. It is up to you if you feel it is necessary. Let us know if you do so that we may make the proper arrangements to acquire a key.
• Competitions will be held more than once so do not get discouraged if you do not win the first time around.
• If your submitted level did not win you may either resubmit it in the following competitions or submit a different one.
• The winner’s level will also be posted in our “List of Winners.”
• It would be great if the winner posts or sends us a photo of the him/her posing with the trophy when they receive it. It may also be a photo of the location where the trophy is placed.
• The only judges will be gocubsgo2 and myself (TOWERS_85_87).
• As judges, we are not eligible to enter the competition.
• Occasional reviewers may compete, but cannot review levels submitted for competition.
• It’s all right to tell us what you think in a post, but do not send us personal messages asking us to send you a trophy without being the actual winner. Doing so will get you automatically disqualified from any current and future competitions.  It will only leave us with a bad impression if you try to claim you won the trophy if you didn’t.
• Decisions made by gocubsgo2 & myself (TOWERS_85_87) in any aspect of the competition shall be final.

• Come by our LittleBIGReviewers thread. Get your levels reviewed, promoted and played. You may also look for great levels to play through our list of over 470+ levels reviewed.
