This is not a goodbye but a see you later

Posted by TOWERS_85_87 on Jul 9, 2010 in Everything Else

Greetings LBP Community

Like most of you know, the LittleBIGReviewers have always been a team of extremely dedicated members within the Sackboy family; which place love and dedication into each and every single review that has been written.  We do so  driven  by the hope that we are helping improve the community’s overall experience with this game that has brought all of us so much joy. You could say that we are LBP’s Unofficial Level Testers with over 500 levels in our resume (not counting the endless ones we played and commented on like good samaritans).Since last February, through our desire for helping members find what type of level they wanted to play in a more organized fashion and Dan’s innovative approach, we’ve been working on a HUGE project for our site which involved a Level Browser never before seen. Even though it was never fully finished, I will make it public so that all of you may experience it first hand.

As a seemly rite of passage for most members, I wanted one for my levels to be reviewed just to know what other players thought of it. I remember requesting my very first review which I got from gocubsgo2 over at LittleBIGWorkshop. I was really excited when I noticed it was posted. That feeling of being helped was overwhelming. It was such a distinct feeling that I just felt compelled to provide others that same experience. Inevitably, I joined the group without hesitation.  The group quickly forged  into what is currently a team of up to 30 members. We categorized each and every single level, distributed request amongst the members and, as of  September of last year, our monthly LBR Trophy Contests were announced.  The community went wild and rampant over them which was evident when they flooded us with great entries. This  reassured us that LBP was alive and well as it was filled with talented members of the community.

Despite my endless enthusiasm and devotion to LBP and the team, recent additional responsibilities have really started to mount and I find myself unable to implement the same work ethic that I wish I could provide. I am a person who likes to give my out-most dedication to anything I apply myself to. Seeing that I cannot do so under my current schedule, I have decided that the LittleBIGReviewers will be CLOSED until further notice. This means that there will be no more reviews and no more competitions for the time being.

Firstly, I would like to thank  gocubsgo2 for inspiring me and allowing me to enter the group.  Not only that, but he has proven to be a great friend and someone with limitless potential.  Also, I would like to thank each every person who has been a member of the LittleBIGReviewers. Their efforts also helped the team achieve the recognition that we all currently have. I would like to thank Media Molecule for making an extraordinary game, for providing the community with such a unique experience, incredible DLC and activities inside and out of LBP.  My family and I have had loads of fun playing it.  I would like to thank  our computer program wizard Dan (DCDJ) and the whole Sackcast for giving us a home for us to expand, stretch our legs and start our trophy competitions. I also want to thank Samalot and the rest of the LBPMedia group for all their help.  He helped us create and record levels on numerous occasions. Zzbobber has also been the quite contributor to the team. I felt that he also deserves to be mentioned within this post. He helped us test all of our Green Sunset level series.  Arnaldo17 for his contributions as well. He would always spread our team’s current activities over at LBPCentral. Half of the time, he would even post them before us. Last but not least, I would like to thank  EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. You were my main drive to continue writing and thinking of ways to entertain the community. Whether it was via reviews or competitions, I always had a blast. Do not consider this as a goodbye or a farewell, but more as a see you later. As the joyful Frosty “The Snowman” once said: “I will be back again someday.” Most likely for when LittleBIGPlanet 2 ;)   Thank you Sackboys and Sackgirls…for everything.  I will miss you all. Keep LBPing!

Honestly and sincerely,

Winner of the 10th LBR Trophy Competition!

Posted by TOWERS_85_87 on Jul 6, 2010 in Everything Else

After having required additional days for judging and getting in contact with some authors that changed their level’s names, I was able to play through all the entries.  I am overjoyed by witnessing first hand how the community has evolved and how the creativity has progressed in LittleBIGPlanet all together. The entries have gotten better and better with time, but these in particular were just astonishing. Approximately half of the entries were considered to be crowned as the winner. I really wish I could, but I do not have that many trophies ;) I appreciate the patience that you have all exhibited.

Now, after much wait and anticipation, the winner of the LittleBIGReviewers’ June trophy competition (‘June Jubilee’) is:

Lightbringer by Trindall
